THREE WIRE BIVY SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove contents from stuff sack and lay the bivy out on the ground
2. Assemble the pole, it will form a cross shape - notice there is one section of the pole with
a longer side and a shorter side (relative to the plastic hub piece where all four sections
of the poles meet)
3. Insert the longest pole section into the hole located at the top center of the hood, under the visor.
4. Fit the end of that pole into the reflective webbing pocket inside the hood located at the
seam between the floor and the hood. Wrap the Velcro piece around the pole for more stability.
5. Pull the visor over the opposite end of the pole (the shorter end) and fit the end of the pole
into the webbing pocket located at the edge of the visor.
6. Insert one of the two remaining free ends of the pole into its respective grommet at the
bottom, side of the hood, making sure the pole threads through the opening (not in front
of it) of the visor and into the grommet.
7. Repeat step 6 with the remaining free pole section.
8. Stake out the bivy for maximum stability and ventilation.
Separate 6", large diameter pole segment included for emergency field repair.
Slide repair pole over the break to act as a splint.
HELPFUL HINTS
• Our shelters are easy to set up but we suggest you practice once at home before using them
for the first time to avoid fumbling around in the dark.
• Before pitching the bivy, clear campsite of debris that may pierce the floor.
• Big Agnes bivy sacks don't require stakes, but we recommend staking them out to increase
space and keep your bivy from becoming a tumbleweed.
• Hang onto your stuff sacks while pitching or they'll blow away and create backcountry litter.
