How to Use
Special Reheating Feature
This iron features solid-state electronic
circuitry with a heat sensor that detects
temperature loss and quickly boosts the
power to bring the heat level back to
optimum styling temperature. During use
the indicator light will repeatedly go
through cycles of flashing and becoming
steady as the appliance is constantly
bringing itself back to optimum styling
temperature.
■ To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide
it into outlet.
This multi-temperature curling iron has
been specially designed to be able to curl
very coarse, thick, hard-to-curl hair. Due to
this special application, the barrel of this
curling iron will be hotter on the HI (25-30)
settings than regular dual-heat curling irons.
Due to the extreme capabilities of this
iron, the barrel will be very hot in the HI
(25-30) settings, so extra care should be
taken when using.
Hair should be clean, dry or nearly dry, and
free of tangles before using. (This iron can
also be used for quick touch-ups any time.)
■ The appliance has a polarized plug , so it
will only fit into the outlet one way. (See
safety warnings for more details.)
■ To disconnect the appliance, grasp the
plug and remove it from outlet. Do not
pull or yank on the cord
1. Rest the iron on its stand on a smooth,
flat surface, and plug it in.
2. Press the ON/OFF switch, and the power
indicator light will flash.
or appliance.
Do not wrap the cord around the
appliance.
3
Select a temperature according to
the type and texture of your hair.
■ Keep unit away from contact with all
skin areas. Do not touch barrel with
fingertips.
Auto-off
After approximately one hour, the unit will
automatically shut itself off. To reactivate
the unit, press the ON/OFF switch.
Note: Before each use, inspect the line
cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks.
DO NOT OPERATE THE APPLIANCE IF
THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE.
4. With the heat control dial set at the
desired setting, allow the unit to
pre-heat. The power indicator light
will begin to flash, signaling that the
appliance is heating up. When the
appliance is heated the indicator light
will glow steadily.
■ For shorter hair, place a thin plastic
comb between scalp and curling iron
barrel to avoid touching scalp.
Dual Voltage Use
This appliance contains a special electronic
circuit that automatically converts it for
worldwide usage–from 100 to 240 volts
AC, 50 to 60 Hz. Just plug it into the local
outlet and use it as normal; the styler will
automatically adjust to the local current.
(You may need an adapter to allow the plug
to fit into the local outlets, however.)
Important
■ Place fingers of free hand on safety tip
when you need more control for curling.
During the first few minutes of initial use,
there may be a slight odor. This is normal
and will quickly disappear.
■ Test a small section of hair to determine
correct heat setting for your hair type.

Usage Tips
Maintenance and Storage
How to Get Professional
Styling
Maintenance
Storage
1. Start by dividing hair into sections not
more than 1 inch deep and 2 inches wide.
2. Keep the section smooth by brushing or
combing through it while holding the ends
taut with the other hand.
When not in use, unplug the unit. Allow it
to cool, and store it out of reach of children
in a safe, dry location.
Results with Your Curling Iron
This unique curling iron has been designed
with multiple temperatures, providing very
high heat in the Hl (25-30) settings for curl-
ing very coarse, thick, hard-to-curl hair; and
very low heat in the LO (1-6) settings for
curling extra fine, damaged or dry hair. It
also provides a full range of heat settings
between LO and HI, for all normal
■ To clean the unit, be sure the unit is
cool and unplugged. Wipe the handle
and barrel with a damp cloth. No other
maintenance is necessary.
Never wrap the cord around the appliance
as this will cause the cord to wear
prematurely and break, thus voiding
warranty. Handle cord carefully for long
life, and avoid jerking, twisting or straining
it, especially at plug connections.
3. Taking one section at a time, place the
ends of hair over the barrel with the
clamp open. Then close the clamp,
making sure that the ends extend just a
tiny bit beyond the clamp.
■ Do not attempt to repair the appliance
yourself.
textures and thicknesses of hair.
4. Grasp the safety tip with the other hand,
and it will be easy to roll hair.
TEST A SMALL SECTION OF HAIR BEFORE
USING; THEN ADJUST TEMPERATURE
DEPENDING ON HAIR TYPE.
5. Keep the section of hair taut as you wind
it around the hot barrel. Wind the curl
toward the scalp as far as you wish to go
without touching scalp with the hot barrel.
6. Hold the curl in place for up to 20 seconds
for tight curls or if hair is hard to curl.
Hold for less time if hair is easy to curl,
or if you want loose curls or just waves.
7. When ready to release curl, unwind
about half a turn (for longer hair, unwind
a bit more) and push down on the clamp
release lever to open the clamp. Now,
gently withdraw the barrel from the cen-
ter of curl. Allow curl to cool, and try not
to disturb curls while proceeding in the
same manner around whole head.
Heat Settings
HI (25-30)
These settings are very hot. Use only if hair
is very coarse and highly resistant, but in
good condition.
MED/HI (19-24)
Use heat settings in this range for dense,
hard-to-curl hair in good condition.
MEDIUM (13-18)
Use heat settings in this range for thick,
wavy hair in good condition.
LO/MED (7-12)
Use heat settings in this range for easy-to-
curl, normal hair.
8. When completely finished, and all curls
have cooled thoroughly, gently brush and
comb hair into the style desired.
LO (1-6)
For a Flip, the clamp should be under and
the barrel over the section of hair at the
start of the curl.
Use LO heat setting for very fine, fragile,
light-colored hair.
For a Curl, the clamp should be over and
the barrel under the section of hair at the
start of the curl.
For Volume and Body, roll hair loosely
around the barrel. Allow hair to cool slightly
before brushing.
