The telephone company may make changes in its facilities, equipment,

make necessary modifications to maintain uninterrupted service.  
Please follow instructions for repairing if any (e.g. battery replacement section);  
otherwise do not alternate or repair any parts of device except specified.  
Connection to party line service is subject to state tariffs. Contact the state  
public utility commission, public service commission or corporation commission  
for information.  
This equipment is hearing aid compatible.  
NOTICE: If your home has specially wired alarm equipment connected to the  
telephone line, ensure the installation of this telephone does not disable your  
alarm equipment. If you have questions about what will disable alarm equipment,  
consult your telephone company or a qualified installer.  
Should you experience trouble with this equipment, please contact Memorex  
for repair or warranty information. If the equipment is causing harm to the  
telephone network, the telephone company may request that you disconnect the  
equipment until the problem is resolved.  
[NOTICE: According to telephone company reports, AC electrical surges,  
typically resulting from lightning strikes, are very destructive to telephone  
equipment connected to AC power sources. To minimize damage from these  
types of surges, a surge arrestor is recommended.]

prior to connection for customer-owned coin or credit card phone. In some states,  
the state public utility commission, public service commission or corporation

INSTALLATION  
Install handset :  
Use the coiled cord to connect the handset to the cradle. Insert either plug into  
either jack.

For desk top :

Simply insert either plug into the modular jack in the telephone base.  
Tuck the cord into the prefitted slot on the underside of cradle  
Insert the other end into the wall jack  
Reversible hook :  
This telephone has a reversible hook to hold the handset in the cradle  
when the unit is wall mounted. Pull the hook out from the base and rotate it.  
When the hook is in the upright position it will hold the handset in the cradle.

Pull up the Handset Hanger, reverse and replace it. This will  
hold the handset in place during wall use.

OPERATION  
A)  
Setting the Tone / Pulse switch  
Please ask your local telephone company whether your phone service is  
PULSE (Rotary) dialing or TONE dialing. Set the switch at TONE position for  
TONE type, or set the switch at PULSE position for PULSE (Rotary) type

To Receive a Call  
Whenever your phone rings, pick it up and use it as you would with any standard  
telephone  
C)  
Dialing a Call  
Pick up your telephone, and listen for dial tone, then press the keys for the  
number you want to call.  
D)  
Ringer ON / OFF switch  
When you don't want to be disturbed by incoming calls, slide the ringer switch  
on the base to the "OFF" position; you can still use the phone to make out-going  
calls, but any in-coming call will not activate the ringer. Remember to return the  
switch to the "ON" position when you are ready to receive calls.  
E)  
Ending a Call  
After you have finished your conversation just hang up the handset. If you want  
to make another call immediately, press the “ FLASH” button once,  
and the line is ready for another call  
F)  
MUTE Button  
Holding down the MUTE button during a telephone call turns off the  
microphone. You can then talk privately to someone else in the room without the  
person on the phone hearing you. When you hold down the MUTE button, you  
can still hear the other person, but anything you say will be not heard. When you  
release the button, your caller will again be able to hear your voice  
G) To Redial the Last number  
This telephone always remembers the last number you called  
If the line is busy and you wish to try again, first press the 'FLASH' button, then  
press the 'REDIAL' button, and the last number will be redialed again
